As most of the other procedures, male breast correction surgery also starts with a general anesthesia or intravenous sedation. If the large breast is a result of excess fatty tissue, liposuction alone will be enough. The excess fat will be sucked out using a small tube called cannula. There are various liposuction techniques. The surgeon will help you to choose the best option for you.

Other than liposuction, excision techniques are also recommended for glandular breast tissue or excess skin. If the areola to be reduced or nipple to be reshaped, excision becomes necessary. In some cases, both liposuction and excision are done to correct gynecomastia. Post-operative care will be suggested by the surgeon after the surgery, according to the condition and procedure chosen.
