The term plastic surgery comes from the Greek word plastikos, which means to mould or to give form. Plastic surgery aims at restoring normal form to body parts that had been deformed at birth, by injury or disease.
They are providing state of the art service in almost every aspect of Plastic Surgery and Cosmetic Surgery. The Center for tissue transfer and replantation established in the year 1990 was the first department of its kind in the state of Kerala and one of the few micro vascular centers in the country. The centre is recognised for teaching with dip.NB courses by national board.
The center also provides training program in plastic and micro vascular surgery. Every year the department organizes international workshops.
